How it came about
With Bilstein coilovers in the car, Magnetic Ride had to go. Coding it out with VCDS is quite a hassle, and the KW cancellation kit costs around €340 and isn’t exactly known for being reliable. So I ordered a few 100 W resistors, got the matching connectors and built my own for under €35 and a bit of soldering.

No dampers. No warning.
Four resistors.
One 100 W load resistor per corner takes the place of the Magnetic Ride damper, so the car no longer reports a fault.
Front: soldered.
I couldn’t find matching plugs for the front axle, so the resistors are soldered straight to the wiring and wrapped in fabric tape.
Rear: plug and play.
At the rear, repair connectors 1J0 973 802 make it plug and play. No coding, no VCDS, and no more Magnetic Ride warning.
